| GOD'S PLAN FOR EXPERIENCING THE TRANSFORMED LIFE
A Teaching by Pastor's Thom and Penny Cooper
1. Renewing the Mind
Romans 12:2 AMP - Do not be conformed to this world (this age),
[fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs],
but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind
[by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove
[for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will
of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect
[in His sight for you].
2. Confessing unto Salvation
Romans 10:10 AMP - For with the heart a person believes (adheres
to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared
righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares
openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
3. Framing our World
Hebrews 11:3 AMP - By faith we understand that the worlds [during
the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped
for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we
see was not made out of things which are visible.
4. The Power of the Tongue
Proverbs 18:21 AMP - Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death
or life]
5. The Importance of the Heart
Proverbs 4:23 AMP - Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance
and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of
life.
Acts 20:32 AMP - And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit
you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection and care]. And
I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels
and promises of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up
and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God's set
apart one's (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul).
6. Establishing the Heart
Hebrews 13:9 AMP - Do not be carried about by different and varied
and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established
and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God's favor and
spiritual blessing) and not [to be devoted to] foods [rules of diet
and ritualistic meals], which bring no [spiritual] benefit or profit
to those who observe them.
A. The three "P's" of the Bible confession -
" Make it personal
" Present Tense
" Positive
B. Engage your Emotions
What we attach our emotions to become more real, more quickly.
C. Cultivate an attitude of worship
Psalm 34:10 AMP - The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but
they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their
need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack
any beneficial thing.
6. Do it! Do it! Do it!
It's not what we do occasionally that makes a difference in our
lives but what we do on a regular and consistent basis.
7. Settle the most essential issues first:
A. God's unconditional love for you
(Romans 5:8-10; 1 John 4:8, 19; Ephesians 3:14-19, etc)
B. The Role of the Holy Spirit
(Romans 5:5; John 16:13)
C. The Finished Work of Jesus
(Isaiah 53 and 54)
D. Your identity in Christ
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
Assignment: Read through the Book of Ephesians and make a list
of every verse, which says something about your identity in Christ.
Create a confession with that Truth. Example: "I am holy and
blameless in the sight of God. Thank you, Father, for choosing me
from the foundation of the world to be holy and without blame in
Your sight."
(Eph 1:4)
PRAYER FOR CONQUERING THE THOUGHT LIFE
In the name of Jesus, I take authority over my thought life. Even
though I walk (live) in the flesh, I am not carrying on my warfare
according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons
of my warfare are not physical (weapons of flesh and blood), but
they are might before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.
I refute arguments and theories and reasoning's and every proud
and lofty thing that sets itself up against the (true) knowledge
of God; and I lead every thought and purpose away captive into the
obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One.
With my soul I will bless the Lord with every thought and purpose
in life. My mind will not wander out of the presence of God. My
life shall glorify the Father, spirit, soul, and body. I take no
account of the evil done to me - I pay not attention to a suffered
wrong. It holds no place in my thought life. I am ever ready to
believe the best of every person. I gird up the loins of my mind,
and I set my mind and keep it set on what is above - the higher
things - not on the things that are on the earth.
Whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable
and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely
and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there
is any virtue and excellence, if there is any-thing worthy of praise,
I will think on and weigh and take account of these things- I will
fix my mind on them.
The carnal mind is no longer operative for I have the mind of
Christ, the Messiah, and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes)
of His heart. In the name of Jesus, I will practice what I have
learned and received and heard and seen in Christ, and model my
way of living on it, and the God of peace - of untroubled, un-disturbed
well being - will be with me.
In Jesus name, Amen.

THE TRUTH TO RENEW YOUR MIND BY
Romans - Chapters 1-11
The righteousness of God is revealed to me in the Gospel of Christ.
The goodness of God leads me to repentance (change of mind).
I cannot be justified (made righteous) by the law.
I am justified (made righteous) freely by God's grace.
Justified by faith, I have peace with God through Jesus.
I have access by faith into the grace of God.
The love of God is poured out in my heart by the Holy Spirit.
God's love for me was demonstrated in that while I was a sinner
Christ died for me.
I will reign in life because I have received an abundance of grace
and the gift of righteousness through the One Jesus Christ.
God's grace (His ability working in me to do those things I cannot
do in my ability) is always available to me because grace "reigns
through righteousness."
I was buried with Christ and was raised from the dead by the glory
of the Father to walk in newness of life.
Sin does not have dominion over me because I am not under the law,
but under grace.
I have been set free from sin.
There is now no condemnation in Christ and I am IN Christ.
The law of the Spirit of Life has set me free from the law of sin
and death.
The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me and gives
life to my mortal body.
The Holy Spirit confirms who I am - a child and heir of God, a
joint heir with Jesus.
The Holy Spirit prays for me when I don't know how or what to pray.
I am more than a conqueror through Christ.
Nothing can separate me from the love of God.
If I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my
heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved.
